Danny Salemme is an award-winning mystery/thriller screenwriter raised on bargain bin horror movies.

Winner of the 2025 Austin Film Festival Horror Screenplay Award, shortlisted for the Black List’s Annual Writer’s Lab, and recognized by some of the industry’s top competitions, including the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, Danny attached producers and a director to his feature, The Mailman, had two scripts featured on Coverfly’s Red List, and his eco-thriller Cottonmouth was ranked as the #1 script on The Black List.

Danny also hosts the horror movie podcast How I Met Your Monster. He lives in California with his husband, Cody, and their hound dog, Brewster.
